Pick of the month: On the Beach by Nevil Shute. It's been a good month! Lots of good and worthy things: The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, Book Three, The Making of 2001, The Beth Book, The State of the Art all could have won in a different month, I suspect. But this month, On the Beach was the only book to make me cry.
